Atif Aslam’s Instagram reel era is alive and thriving, and everyone seems to be onboard. In a post shared on Friday, the singer roped in The Legend of Maula Jatt director Bilal Lashari and the film’s stars Fawad Khan and Faris Shafi into his shenanigans.
“How it feels when the OG friend group finally gets back together,” read the text on the reel, as all involved celebrities strutted in the camera’s direction. “Avengers assemble,” Atif added in the caption.
Bringing star power together to amp up his influencer game must be the Jeene Laga Hoon singer’s secret talent that’s only been coming to light recently. In an earlier reel shot at the same venue, he brought in Hasan Raheem and Abdul Hannan in a singers-only skit featuring Faris and himself.
“Called up college friends during a school fight,” this one read. The reel began with Hasan speaking on the phone, while Hannan stood in front with his arms crossed, ready for battle. The reel, which was accompanied by dramatic background music, cut to Atif and Faris marching up to the scene with their heads held high.
These recent developments on Atif’s Instagram handle have been surprising to say the least, but fans aren’t complaining. “Man, it feels like after singing, he wants an influencer of the year award,” one user wrote. Commenting on the Doorie singer’s command on star power, a user said, “It’s Atif Aslam’s world and we’re just living in it.”
Followers, of course, could also not hold back on the GTA 6 remarks. “We got Atif and Fawad in one reel before GTA 6,” one comment read, while another said, “We got brainrot Atif Aslam before Tralalero Tralala in GTA 6.”
The singer’s sense of humour didn’t abandon him even as he travelled abroad. On Monday, he shared a reel of himself standing at an airport with his backpack worn backwards, as he held his phone to his ears. “Me, as a grown man, still calling my mom to tell her that I’ve landed safely,” the reel’s caption read.
This was only the beginning of Atif’s shift towards a more comedic social media presence, and fans couldn’t help but be surprised by the sudden change. “Who is handling Atif’s Instagram?” a user wondered.
Despite the initial shock, netizens instantly warmed up to this fresh change. “Welcome to the meme world,” one wrote, while another said, “Bro is conquering the meme world after conquering music.”
