BIEK seeks FIA assistance to curb cheating mafia
KARACHI: Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has sought Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) assistance against WhatsApp Groups involved in paper leaks.
The Chairman of the Inter Board Karachi has written a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) asking them to take action against WhatsApp groups involved in papers leaks and helping students other unfair means.
In the letter the Chairman has requested that the FIA act quickly to stop illegal activities like sharing exam papers and answers through WhatsApp groups. He also asked for help in stopping the misuse of social media, especially WhatsApp, during exams.
The letter points out that in the past, some social media groups have been caught leaking exam papers and sharing answers which causes problems during exams.
The Chairman warned that these groups posing threat to the fairness of the exams and could cause major problems during the exam period. The intermediate exams are scheduled to start on May 5th and will end on 29th May.
The letter stated that some WhatsApp groups are not only involved paper leakage but also passing around answers during the exams which shows organized cheating.
The Chairman believes these actions are now becoming cybercrimes which could seriously harm the security and fairness of the exams.
He requested FIA Cyber Crime Wing to fully investigate these groups and take strong legal action.
