In first place, is Lexus, crowned the most reliable car brand with a rating of 97.01 per cent in the 2025 Honest John Satisfaction Index.

Lexus nabbed its spot due to its efficiency, practicality, safety, performance and comfort.

Although the Japanese brand isn’t the best-selling on the market, drivers appreciate its performance and reliability.

Present Lexus models include LBX, UX, NX, RZ, RX, ES and LM, across hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric powertrains.

In second place, is Elon Musk’s Tesla, reaching a score of 95.29 per cent.

The Tesla’s electric vehicles are considered some of the most popular around the world.

Despite some backlash, Tesla models are among the best-selling EVs in the UK.

Motorists back them due to their impressive battery ranges of more than 300 miles, convenient Supercharging locations and in-car technology.

In third and fourth place, come Toyota and Honda with scores of 94.65 per cent and 94.31 per cent.

These Japanese brands are famous for being reliable, with low breakdown rates and cheap repair costs.

If on a budget, the Toyota Aygo X or the Toyota Yaris offer high levels of engineering excellence, much like the much pricier Toyota RAV4 or Toyota GR86 sports car.

Meanwhile, the Honda Jazz and Honda CR-V are particular fan favourites.

Both exemplify a quality of engineering found in most Honda models.

In fifth place is Skoda with a score of 93.08 per cent.

Skoda’s make great family cars, in particular, the Skoda Octavia Estate and Skoda Kodiaq SUV.

A spokesperson for Honest John said: “Lexus’s NX model was also the most reliable car overall, ahead of the Skoda Karoq and Toyota Corolla.

“Meanwhile, it’s Tesla owners that were the most satisfied with the overall ownership of their cars at the time of the survey, with an 89.41 per cent approval score.”
