Five including Maulana Hamid ul Haq martyred in suicide attack
Nowshera: At least five people, including Maulana Hamid-ul -Haq Haqqani, were martyred in a suicide blast during Friday prayers at the Darul Uloom Haqqaniya Akora Khattak mosque.
Inspector General (IG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid confirmed the suicide blast during Friday prayers at the mosque in Haqqaniya, saying that the blast initially killed four people and several others were seriously injured.
The IGKP added that the target of the attack was Maulana Hamid ul Haq Haqqani, the head of the Haqqaniya.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and Chief Secretary KP Shahab Ali Shah have confirmed martyrdom of Maulana Hamid ul Haqqani in the blast.
Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Muhammad Irfan Ullah Mehsud says the body of Maulana Hamid ul Haq Haqqani has been shifted to CMH Nowshera. So far five death confirmed in the blast.
Irfan Ullah Mehsud said that the blast was carried out on the external route of the mosque from which Maulana Hamid ul Haq used to go home after the prayer. The blast was carried out when Maulana Hamad ul Haq was on his way to the residence.
Emergency has been imposed at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar after the blast in Akora Khattak, and spokesman LRH said the administration and medical staff have been instructed to remain alert, ready to face all kinds of situation.
