A ‘BUDGET queen’ has shared how she wanted to change the look of her entire kitchen, and managed to do it for just £30.
She revealed how she did herself with some stick-on vinyl that instantly gave the room an entirely new feel.
And the best part is it can be removed, making it suitable for rented houses.
On her @justh966 account, she showed how she cut the wooden-look vinyl to size, and then smoothed it on in minutes.
She wrote: “If you want to do a whole set of cabinets, top & bottoms in a medium/large kitchen then you’ll spend no less than $50 (£38).”
While she is based in America and got it from Amazon, B&Q has light oak wood effect self-adhesive film for £8.
For this price you get a piece which is 2000mm x 450mm.
The description reads: “Ideal for furniture renovation, lining drawers, covering shelves and drawer fronts, updating home accessories and for arts and crafts.”
Her kitchen went from a plain white colour to a dark style without needing any professional help at all.
However, despite the purse-friendly transformation, not everyone was a fan.
One person said: “Me being a house cleaner I could never, it would get gross and how you gonna clean it without ruining it.”
Another added: “70s decor, youll hate it.”
Many people loved her DIY job, with one stating: “My mum did it and it stays for years.”
Another wrote: “You’ve done this absolutely amazing. What a difference.”
£100 DIY job
Meanwhile, a savvy woman has shared how she transformed her kitchen with just a £100 budget – and she did the opposite job in turning it from brown to white.
Becky Bartlam, from the UK, took to YouTube to show off the DIY transformation.
She said: “I said at the moment to keep the cost down, I’m just going to do a quick DIY fix for the time being so the items I’m using are from B&Q.”
Before she got stuck into the job, her kitchen looked dark and outdated with dark brown cupboards and black countertops.
But she was able to breathe some new life into it for just £100.
She first bought some marble stick on vinyl which costs just £8 a roll and she used three in total.
Becky also bought some black spray paint for her cupboard handles for £12.50 to give them a more modern feel.
On top of that, she bought a tin of white paint for £34 which she used to paint her cupboard doors.
Becky said it obviously would cost a lot more to get her kitchen redone, so settled on a quick fix instead.
