ICONIC British band Gene have hinted that they’re reuniting 21 years after split.
Gene were formed back 1993 and made up of lead singer Martin Rossiter, Steve Mason, Matt James, Kevin Miles and Darryl James Walton.
The band’s music was influenced by a number of 90s bands like the Jam, the Smiths, the Style Council and the Clash.
Their biggest hits include Be My Light, Be My Guide, Olympian, Haunted By You and Still Can’t Find the Phone.
The band split at the end of 2004, but it looks like the band are back together.
Their official X page announced the exiting news in a new post on Monday.
They wrote: “London, can you wait For all the things that I must say? How long can you wait? Oh, how long?”
The post then said fans could sign up to the mailing list for early updates.
Last month they also hinted at a reunion as they teased upcoming performances.
They posted: “Can you remember where and when the last ever Gene live show was? Were you there? Gene HQ.”
Despite further successful live shows over the years, including a performance at the Royal Festival Hall Meltdown Festival in June 2004, Gene ended up breaking up.
Their last gig was on December 2004 at the London Astoria.
The band members have gone on to have solo careers.
Roy Wilkinson went on to manage the band British Sea Power, while Snake Newton worked with a number of artists including Duran Duran, Sugababes, Pet Shop Boys and Snow Patrol.
In 2008, all four members of Gene briefly took to the stage again for their ex-manager Jerry Smith’s 50th birthday party.
They performed five songs at the 100 Club in London to the delight of their fans.
