So it’s great to know when they have been tried and tested.

Zara, a holistic healer, has luckily done so.

She has revealed a few tricks that she has tried herself and is sharing them on her TikTok account ‘theneptunianbaby.’

She explained that if “you want to age like fine wine and have clear, glowy skin,” then she recommends a number of herbs and foods that you should be taking.

Her first recommendation is including berries in your diet.

She says: “Berries are high in antioxidants and flavonoids, which is going to help rid the cells of free radicals.

“Not only that, it’s actually going to help bring oxygenation and oxygen to the cells.

“Because a lot of the time we are ageing because we are not getting enough oxygen around our cells or into our cells.

“That is why we are ageing and that is why we look like dried-up raisins. We’re not hydrating and we’re not bringing oxygen and life to the cells.”

Her second tip is including mushrooms like chaga and reishi as these can “actually help with anti-ageing and can give you the botox-looking effect.”

She continues: “Chaga actually has a compound that is very similar to melanin.

My alternative to Botox is a game changer – I’ve completely ditched the injections, and it only costs £1.54

“So if you’re someone that doesn’t actually have melanin, like a lot of melanin in their skin, or you’re just looking for something that’s going to help protect your cells against free radicals, you need mushrooms.

“Mushrooms are like the protector. Mushrooms are like the almighty kingdom.

“And especially chaga is going to help with antioxidants and it’s going to help with your skin and the appearance and the youthfulness of your skin.”

Her third anti-ageing tip is to include Palo Azul in your diet.

This is also known as kidneywood, and is a shrub that produces a blue tea with health benefits that may help with kidney stones, digestion, joint pain, and blood sugar regulation.

Zara says: “Now this tea is amazing because it’s high in flavonoids and antioxidants. But not only that, it’s amazing for the kidneys.

“A lot of the time the reason why we are ageing is because we are holding on to too much waste.

“This is a perfect detox and diuretic that’s going to help get rid of the toxins through urination.”

She continues: “It has high antioxidants so it’s going to help with ageing.”

Her video gained a lot of attention, with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “I think I’m in love with this woman.. I’m following your tips. I’m seeing changes

A second asked her: “Babe is goat milk safe for acne? I’ve completely stopped consuming cow milk but need an alternative! You think it’s safe?”

To which Zara replied: “A great alternative is always nut or seed milk.”

Others simply praised her for sharing the tips, with a third commenting: “Thank you very much for the information.”

Why is fermented rice water an anti-ageing powerhouse?

Fermented rice water has gained popularity in skincare for its cheap – but wildly effective – benefits.

  • It is is packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants – including vitamins B, C, and E – which help promote a healthy, radiant complexion
  • The fermentation process produces enzymes that enhance rice water’s ability to lighten dark spots and banish hyperpigmentation
  • The cooling and anti-inflammatory properties of fermented rice water can help calm irritated or sensitive skin, which is particularly beneficial for conditions like eczema, acne, and sunburn
  • Regular use of fermented rice water can lead to smoother, softer skin by promoting gentle exfoliation. The natural acids formed during fermentation help to remove dead skin cells, revealing a fresher layer of skin
  • It is also known to promote cell regeneration, which can help heal scars and improve the overall appearance of the skin
