The weather in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) is expected to be overcast today, with the possibility of rain and snow, accompanied by thunderstorms.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), partial cloud cover is forecast for most districts of the province, Express News reported.

In areas like Chitral, Dera, Swat, and others, thunderstorms with rain are expected, with snowfall on the mountains.

Moreover, the forecast also includes rain with thunderstorms for the regions of Mansehra, Kohistan, Torghar, and Abbottabad.

The temperature in Peshawar was recorded at 14 degrees Celsius yesterday, while temperatures in Kalam and Malam Jabba were recorded at 2°C and 1°C, respectively. Parachinar experienced a low of -1°C, while Dera Ismail Khan reached 16°C and Saidu Sharif recorded 7°C.

Meanwhile in the southern part of the country the, PMD had earlier on Wednesday  predicted that the ongoing hot spell in Karachi will persist for the next 24 hours.

The city is expected to experience hot and dry weather, with clear skies and mildly warm winds during the day.

PMD forecasts that the maximum temperature will reach 38°C, with a minimum of 20°C over the next 24 hours.

The heatwave, which is being driven by a high-pressure system over Rajasthan, India, will continue until Wednesday.

However, temperatures are expected to begin decreasing from Thursday as the pressure system weakens and a high-pressure area forms over the Arabian Sea.

While the high-pressure system is currently located far from Karachi, it may bring strong winds as it moves closer, causing the temperature to drop to around 33-34°C.
