A sweltering and humid Saturday brought heatwave-like conditions to the city, with temperatures peaking at 38.9°C and humidity rising to 43%, causing the weather to feel significantly hotter than the actual recorded temperature. The minimum temperature was noted at 26.5°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, hot and humid weather is expected to persist over the next three days, with daytime temperatures likely to range between 36°C and 38°C. Light westerly winds may prevail in the mornings, while southwesterly sea breezes could pick up by evening.
A heatwave alert issued by the department warns that the intense conditions may continue across much of Sindh until April 30.
Temperatures in interior Sindh districts such as Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Larkana, Sukkur, and Jamshoro are expected to remain 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal. In Hyderabad, Badin, Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas, the deviation from normal is likely to be 4 to 6 degrees.
Authorities have advised special precautions, particularly for children, the elderly, and women. The public is urged to avoid direct sunlight during the day and to stay hydrated. Farmers are encouraged to make necessary arrangements for crop and livestock care in light of the severe weather.
On Saturday, Dadu recorded the highest temperature in the province at a scorching 48°C.
