Lahore braces for rising temperatures amid dry spell

Residents of Lahore and other parts of Punjab are experiencing a steady rise in temperatures as dry weather grips the province, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Officials said on Wednesday that no rainfall is expected over the next two to three days. The dry spell is likely to continue, increasing the intensity of heat, particularly on the third day of Eid.

In Lahore, temperatures are forecast to range between 17°C and 33°C. The gradual increase has already prompted greater use of cooling appliances in both homes and offices.

“Warm and dry conditions are likely to persist, with no immediate sign of rainfall,” a spokesperson from the Met Office said.

Authorities have advised people to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, and limit outdoor activity during peak hours.

The rising use of fans and air conditioners has also raised concerns about increased electricity consumption in the coming days.

On the other hand, the weather in Karachi remained the hottest on the second day of Eid, according to the PMD, the city experienced hot and dry conditions for 24 hours.

The maximum temperature ranged between 36 to 38°C, while the temperature was recorded at 20°C and feels like 36°C
