Lidl is selling a fire pit that would be perfect for your garden for 60% less than rival chains

LIDL is selling a fire pit that’s perfect for the garden – and it’s 60 per cent cheaper than rival versions.

As summer approaches, Brits are increasingly looking to get outside for BBQs and garden parties.

The Tepro Fire Pit, on sale for just £19.99, is billed as the perfect way to “create a cosy atmosphere in your garden”.

The steel pit has a modern, square design – and heat-resistant coating for optimal safety.

It also comes with a poker to keep those embers burning for as long as possible.

The product has already proved a knock-out with customers – and is currently sold-out online.

However, it will be coming to Lidl’s stores from April 17, according to its website.

Meanwhile, Argos is selling a similar product, the Argos Home Foldable Firepit.

But, at £50, this is 60 per cent more expensive than Lidl’s version.

However, it does come with some added features – including a mesh safety lid and a grill that transforms the fire pit into a BBQ.

The foldable design also makes it useful for storing away in the shed – or even taking on camping trips.

A similar but more affordable option may be Tesco’s Hortus Metal Square Firepit BBC – for £24.99.

Lidl shoppers bag middle aisle bargain that’s perfect for the hot weather and it’s only a fiver

This comes with both a lid and grill – for only a fiver more than Lidl’s more basic version.

However, if your heart is set on foldability, you may prefer to spare a few extra quid on Aldi’s £29.99 Belavi Foldable Fire Pit.

Lidl’s Tepro Fire Pit isn’t the only bargain to snap up ahead of summer – as shoppers also flocked to pick up its £69.99 Grillmeister Two-Burner Gas Barbecue.

This has a similar design as Robert Dyas’s £149.99 Outback Omega 250 2-Burner Gas BBQ – but for a fraction of the price.

The supermarket giant is also selling a £1.99 dupe of the £8.50 Lush body wash – that smells “exactly” like the original.

How can I save money when shopping at Lidl?

Lidl reduces items at the start of the day, and the best deals can be found between 7am and 8am, when most stores open.

Shoppers can often find cooked meats, salmon fillets and breads reduced by 30% or more.

Not only does Lidl have its own range of reasonably priced alcohol, it also has its own knock-offs of branded favourites – so say cheers to its bargain booze.

Everyone knows about the “Middle of Lidl” – it’s here where you’ll find a load of random stuff you didn’t realise you needed, at decent prices.

But if you are hoping to avoid spending more than you planned, you can check what will be in the “Middle of Lidl” on the supermarket’s website in advance.

The Middle of Lidl is refreshed every Thursday and Sunday.

Shoppers can also keep tabs on what’s appearing in the “Pick of the Week” section on the Lidl website.

The discounts happen every Thursday and are usually on fruit, vegetables, and meat.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
