Major supermarkets slashes the price of Celebrations tubs to just £3.50

CHOCOLATE lovers should rush to their local supermarket to see if it is one of the chains slashing prices on Celebrations tubs.

Sainsbury’s is one of the major chains to cut prices on the hugely popular sweet treats.

Two tubs of Celebrations chocolates priced at £3.50.

One shopper shared the find with UK Hot Deals, sharing a photograph of the chocolate tubs with huge price reduction sticker.

The supermarket has cut the price from £5 to £3.50 for a 550 gram tub of Celebrations.

“Been like this for a good 3 weeks or so,” they wrote in the comments as shoppers asked why they didn’t share the bargain sooner.

Another lucky customer revealed how they got their tub for just 89p.

“Got this 89p dated following day, short dated so check the dates,” they warned.

Another bargain hunter made the same point: “Please make sure you check the date.

“Tesco also have the same deal on Clubcard – but many of the boxes at a local store are short dated.”

On Facebook one shopper said that the discounted tubs at Sainsbury’s had a use by date of April, giving them just a few weeks to polish off the treats.

The same deal has been spotted at Tesco with both Celebrations and Quality Street marked down.

Shoppers who can’t wait to get their hands on some more green triangles and purple ones can find Quality Street tubs reduced to clear at the supermarket for £3.50.

My budget’s so strict I pray at the till on my food shop – this week I did it for a family of 4 for £100, here’s my haul

But the deal on Celebrations is only valid for Clubcard holders.

Customers without a clubcard will be forced to pay full price at a whopping £6 per tub compared to the £3.50 Clubcard price.

Meanwhile, an even better bargain has been found at another supermarket with the tubs cheaper than Tesco and Sainsbury’s and still with a long shelf life.

On a bargain-finding Facebook page, one user said: “Picked up celebrations from farm foods yesterday for £2.99 dated June 2025.”

Farmfoods has also slashed the price of a huge 1kg bag of Celebrations to just £1.99.

It’s not clear whether either offer is available in other Farmfoods stores, but it could be worth checking your local store if you have one near you.

Meanwhile, other major bargains could be heading your way as Tesco’s plans to start giving yellow sticker deals to customers for free.

The UK’s biggest supermarket is set to introduce the freebies on food due to go out of date across selected Express stores as part of a trial.

The free products will be available for shoppers who visit these branches after 9.30pm.

The move comes as Tesco looks to cut its food waste.

The supermarket giant said it will continue giving some of the end-of-life products to charity as it currently does.

Staff will also get priority for the free products reduced earlier in the day.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
