Both of these teams kick off in a weird state of respective obscurity, yet still feel burdened by the weight of expectation.
Arsenal hit SEVEN (7) in the Netherlands in midweek as they all but secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals, but as domestic action goes, The Gunners lack of clinicality has found them way off the pace of league-winning ambitions, trail table-toppers Liverpool by 16 points going into today but are eight points clear of sixth place.
Manchester United on the other hand, struggled to show any sort of authority in their European travels on Thursday (and for much of the season) as they are deadlocked with Real Sociedad in the Europa League tie. As the league is worth, it’s simply not. Ruben Amorim’s side won’t get relegated nor will they claim a European place.
This encounter provides a whole lot of personal pride but not equal amounts of game-changing outcome.
