Marks and Spencer has really stepped up its game in recent years, becoming one of the trendiest spots on the high street.
The store will be adjusting its hours to give its hardworking team some well-deserved time off to relax and enjoy the Easter holidays.
Changed opening hours
According to YouGov’s 2025 poll, Marks and Spencer is the nation’s second-favourite supermarket, coming in just behind Aldi.
Known for its stunning food halls and diverse range of options, including the vegan-friendly Plant Kitchen line, it’s no wonder M&S is so loved.
This Easter, the treasured high-street store is giving its staff a well-earned break by closing its large stores on Easter Sunday.
However, some stores will stay open until 7pm on both December 31 and January 1, so it’s a good idea to double-check the hours at your local branch before heading out.
M&S at Easter
Most of its shops will be shut on Easter Sunday so shoppers will need to grab any last-minute Easter bits before then.
The posh supermarket told The Sun that the closures are in place “so colleagues can spend time with friends and family”.
On Good Friday, the majority of the chain’s locations will open, utilising either their regular or bank holiday hours.
M&S is scheduled to be open as usual on Easter Saturday.
On Easter Sunday, the larger stores will be closed.
And on Easter Monday, stores are scheduled to open to their normal bank holiday hours.
The posh supermarket told The Sun that the closures are in place “so colleagues can spend time with friends and family”.
However a small number of stores will be open between 9am and 6pm.
The opening times will vary by individual store, so you should check the hours of your local shop on M&S.com or on the M&S app.
A spokesperson for the supermarket added: “M&S stores will be open as usual on Good Friday and Easter Monday, the majority between 8am and 8pm.”
