- Indian journalist Barkha Dutt visited Pakistan.
- She suggested India should no longer play cricket with Pakistan.
- Pakistani actress and TV personality Mishi Khan criticized Dutt’s hypocrisy.
Indian journalist Barkha Dutt recently visited Pakistan along with other Indian media professionals. During the visit, they were warmly welcomed and even met former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and current Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz at their residence in Lahore. The visit was widely seen as a gesture of soft diplomacy and goodwill between the two nations.
However, in a sudden shift following the tragic #Pahalgam incident, Barkha Dutt called for a media and sports boycott of Pakistan. She stated that India should no longer play cricket with Pakistan and also suggested that Pakistani journalists should not be allowed to appear on Indian television shows.
This sharp reversal drew strong reactions, particularly from Pakistani actress and TV personality Mishi Khan. Taking to social media, Mishi expressed her disappointment and criticized Barkha’s hypocrisy. She pointed out how Barkha enjoyed hospitality and peaceful engagement in Pakistan, only to later demand isolation in response to political pressure.
“This kind of double standard only harms the hope for peace,” Mishi wrote, calling on people to remain consistent and fair in their political narratives.
