The DP World Tour returns to a familiar venue this week for the Open de France while the PGA Tour enters new territory at the Black Desert Championship in Utah.
BMW PGA Championship winner Billy Horschel is 12/1 to double up at Le Golf National, which has hosted the Open de France since 1991 and was the scene of the Olympic golf competition this year, as well as the 2018 Ryder Cup.
Keith Mitchell, who let a PGA Tour title slip from his grasp in Mississippi on Sunday, is 20/1 to make amends at Black Desert Resort, which welcomes the Tour’s first event in Utah since 1963.

Dane can improve on fine Paris record
Thorbjorn Olesen won the team competition at the Dunhill Links last Sunday while finishing 12th in the professional tournament, and the 34-year-old Dane appears to be poised for a bold title challenge at Le Golf National.
He finished runner-up behind Thomas Levet in this event on debut in 2011 and third in 2017. He was a member of the victorious 2018 European Ryder Cup squad, where he beat Jordan Spieth 5&4 in the Sunday singles, and was 10th in Paris last season.
The eight-time DP World Tour winner also represented Denmark in the Olympics in Paris in August, where he finished 14th behind a host of PGA Tour stars.

Home hero ready to delight crowd
There are several French hopefuls in the field who are bidding to become the first domestic winner, and Levet and Frederic Lacroix could prove the best of them.
It has been a fine season for Lacroix, who made his DP World Tour breakthrough in Denmark in August, and a big finish in the five remaining tournaments will be enough to earn the Parisian one of the 10 PGA Tour cards awarded to those at the top of the Race to Dubai rankings.
Le Golf National is a course that demands accuracy off the tee – and Lacroix, who drives long and straight, could enjoy his third crack at this assignment.

Black Desert Championship golf betting tips

Thorbjornsen looks a danger man
The betting market for the action in Utah is wide open and punters will have to weigh up the demands of a brand-new course, the Tom Weiskopf-designed Black Desert Resort.
Opened last year, it features wide open fairways and large greens – a low total is likely to be required to get the job done – and this is a venue that should play to the strengths of exciting young American Michael Thorbjornsen.
The 23-year-old was a runner-up in a low-scoring John Deere Classic in July, and then finished eighth in the Sanderson Farms Championship last week. He has already established himself as one of the longest drivers on the PGA Tour and has been putting well in recent outings.

McCarty poised to take a leap forward
Arizonan Matt McCarty has proved his appetite for winning on the Korn Ferry Tour, chalking up three victories since the beginning of July on the PGA Tour feeder circuit, and he should soon start to contend for PGA Tour titles.
He finished 63rd at the Sanderson Farms Championship on his PGA Tour debut last week but it could pay to forgive that slow start to life at the highest level.
The 26-year-old finished runner-up in the Utah Championship in August while his most recent Korn Ferry Tour success came in Boise, Idaho, a state that borders Utah at a course where the altitude is similar to the 3,000ft or so above sea level that he will encounter at Black Desert.
Tip: Outright winner – Matt McCarty at 45/1 with bet365
