The Russian military repelled a series of Ukrainian drone raids overnight, destroying a total of 121 UAVs, with the bulk downed near Crimea, the Defense Ministry has said. Officials reported that there was no damage in Sevastopol following the attack.
In a statement on Friday, the ministry said the majority of the aircraft-type drones – 89 in total – were intercepted over Crimea, which is home to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Another 23 drones were shot down over the Black Sea.
In mainland Russia, four drones were downed over Krasnodar Region, two over Oryol Region, one over Bryansk Region, and one over Belgorod Region. Another drone was intercepted over the Sea of Azov.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of Sevastopol, reported a “massive combined attack” on the city, which he said was defeated by the fleet and local air defense forces. He added that no damage was done in the city, and that all emergency services remain on high alert.
Ukraine routinely launches drone raids into Russia, with strikes often targeting critical infrastructure and civilians. On Thursday, the Ukrainian military launched a drone strike on the town of Aleshki in Russia’s Kherson Region, killing at least seven and injuring more than 20.
