The newly-launched Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) organized its introductory workshop at a local hotel on Sunday which was attended by nearly a dozen participants.
The workshop was followed by a press briefing by the PPF’s Senior Vice President, Mudassir Arain. He informed the media representatives that the PPF is the sole authority of padel sports in Pakistan and is affiliated with the International Padel Federation.
“The main aim of the PPF is to officially launch and promote the padel sport in Pakistan. Padel sport is the fastest growing sport around the world and we are confident that it will also catch up rapidly in the country and will produce outstanding players who will be able to represent Pakistan in national and international competitions around the world,” said Mudassar.
In the introductory workshop in Karachi on Sunday, Mudassar briefed the attendees on the game’s structure, rules, and international affiliation.
He also announced the PPF’s annual calendar for 2025, featuring eight national and three international events. “Pakistan’s men’s and women’s teams will participate in the Asian Championship later this year,” he informed.
PPF President Mohammad Mateen also attended the workshop virtually and expressed his full support for strengthening the game in the country.
Sindh Olympic Association Secretary, Ahmed Ali Rajpoot, was also present on the occasion and praised the workshop, saying he had never seen such an initiative by any federation before. He wished the PPF the best of luck.
