Pakistan’s IT exports reach $2.177 billion in first seven months of FY 2024-25

Pakistan generated $2.177 billion from IT service exports during the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 26.53% increase compared to the $1.720 billion earned in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Computer services saw the most significant growth, rising 32.72% from $1.397 billion in 2023-24 to $1.855 billion in July-January 2024-25.

Software consultancy services surged 35.51%, increasing from $476.017 million to $645.036 million.
Hardware consultancy services experienced 4.39% growth, from $3.338 million to $3.485 million.
Computer software exports declined 4.27%, dropping from $359.618 million to $344.260 million.

Other computer services saw a 54.52% rise, jumping from $557.415 million to $861.326 million.

Additionally, information services exports skyrocketed by 736.66%, rising from $2.097 million to $17.551 million. Within this category:

News agency services exports saw an 1197.51% increase, from $1.269 million to $16.475 million.

Other information services exports grew 29.96%, from $0.828 million to $1.076 million.

However, telecommunication services experienced a 5.05% decline, decreasing from $320.891 million to $304.675 million.

Call center services exports increased by 25.22%, rising from $144.326 million to $180.728 million.

Other telecommunication services dropped 29.80%, declining from $176.565 million to $123.946 million.

These figures highlight Pakistan’s growing IT sector, with significant gains in computer and information services, despite a slight decline in telecommunications exports.
