Pakistan’s IT exports reach historic high

Pakistan’s IT exports hit a record high of $342 million in March, the highest ever in a single month, according to the Ministry of Information Technology.

This marks the 18th month in a row that IT exports have grown. Officials credit this steady rise to strong government support and the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

In the first nine months of the 2025 fiscal year, the country’s total IT exports reached $2.8 billion. The government is aiming to increase this number to $10 billion under its “Uraan Pakistan” plan, which focuses on stabilizing the currency and maintaining supportive policies to encourage more growth.

An official from the ministry said this continued increase shows that global demand for Pakistani IT services is rising. Local IT companies are also expanding their presence in international markets.

Two months ago, IT exports had already jumped by 28%, hitting $1.86 billion. Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, had said then that the government expected exports to grow even more in the coming months.
