A POPULAR vegan restaurant in a top city is set to pull down the shutters after running the business for four years.
Soul Food Kitchen, which opened in January 2019, said it would be closing its doors at the end of the month – leaving loyal customers shocked and disappointed.

The popular restaurant, renowned for its pant-based menu, began its journey in Glasgow’s West End.
Staff of the Soul Food Kitchen thanked all their customers and said they were grateful to have created all the memories together.
However, the management of the restaurant felt short of revealing the reason behind the shocking closure.
Announcing the sad news, they wrote on social media: “With great sadness, we have to share some news that we never imagined we’d be writing. Soul Food Kitchen will be closing its doors at the end of March.
“When we opened our doors in January 2019, our aim was to create something that was more than just a plant-based restaurant – we wanted to build a wellness community, a space where people would feel inspired to create healthier, happier lives for themselves and their families.
“And I think we succeeded. That first year was incredible—we were overwhelmed by the love and support from all of you. There was a real buzz, an energy that made us so grateful to be doing what we love. It was an honour to build this space with you and for you.
“Then, like so many others, we were hit by COVID. It was a difficult time, full of uncertainty, but what got us through was this incredible community.
“Your support, kindness, and unwavering belief in what we created kept us going, and the energy we all built together will never be forgotten.
“Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, many of whom have become friends. And in the end, this is what truly matters.
“We want to take a moment to thank our amazing staff – every single person who has worked with us over the years. Your dedication, hard work, and passion helped bring Soul Food Kitchen to life.
“To our wellness professionals—thank you for sharing your knowledge, energy, and expertise. You helped us create something truly special, and we are so grateful for you.
They announced that all the wellness events that are set to take place will go ahead, but the afternoon tea service they offer will be cancelled.
They have urged their customers to come and enjoy the food one last time to “celebrate everything they built together.”
The added: “Our wellness events are still going ahead as planned, and while our kitchen will close, our commitment to hosting wellness events will continue.
“Sadly, our Afternoon Tea service will no longer be going ahead, and all booked guests will receive a full refund. We’re so sorry for this change, and we appreciate your understanding.
“Before we close our doors, we would love for you to join us one last time. Come share a meal, relive your favourite moments, and celebrate everything we’ve built together.”

It comes after a popular Cuban-themed bar and restaurant has suddenly closed after just two years, leaving loyal customers shocked and disappointed.
Cubanos, located on Nether Hall Road in Doncaster, first opened its doors before Christmas in 2022, bringing a lively mix of Latin American cuisine, cocktails, and salsa nights to the city.
The venue, known for its vibrant atmosphere and murals by local artist Keith Hopewell, announced its closure in a brief message shared on the Facebook page Eating Out in Doncaster.
The statement read: “Cubanos Cocktail and Rum Bar is now closed.
“Thank you for your support – we appreciate every one of you!”
No further explanation was given, and the restaurant’s website and social media pages have been taken down.
It comes after a popular seaside pub in an English resort town is set to close within weeks after pouring pints for 500 years.
