Prophet’s mosque hosts 4,000 worshipers from 120 countries for I’tikaf

The Prophet’s Mosque welcomed 4,000 worshipers from 120 countries for I’tikaf, the spiritual practice of staying in a mosque for worship, during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

Upon arrival, male worshipers were directed to the western rooftop section, accessible via staircases No. 6 and 10, while female worshipers were assigned the northeastern section, accessible through doors 24 and 25A.

The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque swiftly began providing essential services to ensure comfort and ease for the worshipers, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Among the services offered were a dedicated help desk, secure lockers for personal belongings, medical clinics with first aid facilities, multilingual translation support, and religious lessons. Full meal provisions for iftar, dinner, and sahoor were also provided, alongside mobile charging stations.

Additionally, each worshiper received a personal care kit and a wristband for ease of movement, access to designated areas, and to streamline service provision.
