Former Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as the team director of the Quetta Gladiators, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise announced.
Nadeem Umar, the owner of the franchise, made the announcement, marking a significant change in Sarfaraz’s role with the team.
Sarfaraz, a key figure for Quetta Gladiators since the league’s inception, led the franchise to its only PSL title in 2019. His new appointment transitions him from an on-field player to a leadership role off the field.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sarfaraz Ahmed as the team director of Quetta Gladiators,” said Nadeem Umar. “I am confident that he will bring invaluable experience and leadership to the franchise.”
Umar also praised the strong combination of Sarfaraz as team director and former Pakistan captain Moin Khan as head coach, expressing optimism that their partnership will lead to further success for the franchise in future PSL seasons.
