Security forces killed eight terrorists trying to infiltrate through Pak-Afghan border
Security forces killed eight terrorists (Khawarij) and injured four others in a gunfight near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the clash took place during the night of April 5 to 6 when security forces spotted militants trying to enter Pakistan. A prompt response from the forces triggered a fierce exchange of fire that continued for several hours.
The infiltrators were successfully targeted, with eight Khawarij killed and four others seriously injured, said ISPR.
Pakistan has consistently urged the interim Afghan government to improve border control and ensure that Afghan soil is not used for carrying out attacks against Pakistan.
“The interim Afghan government is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of its territory by militants,” the statement emphasized.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, said ISPR.
