Sindh’s Senior Minister for Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced that working women in the province will be provided with free pink scooters.

During an inspection of the ongoing Yellow Line BRT construction, the minister reviewed the project’s progress alongside officials, engineers, and consultants. The consultants briefed him on the current status, challenges, and expected completion date.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stressed that any delay in completing the Yellow Line BRT would not be tolerated and directed officials to finish it ahead of schedule. Initially set for completion in September 2025, the project is now expected to be completed by May 2025, five months earlier than planned.

He also addressed challenges in the Red Line BRT, stating that issues related to Civil Aviation, the Water Board, and the K-IV project are being resolved. Meanwhile, he confirmed that there would be no fare hikes for the Green Line BRT, but passenger facilities would be improved.

The minister urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to fulfill his promise of providing 180 buses for Karachi, emphasizing that the city deserves better transport services.

Regarding women’s transportation, he announced the launch of free pink scooters for working women and a Pink Taxi Service for safe and comfortable travel.

Additionally, he introduced the “I Work for Sindh” app and portal, designed to provide job opportunities for unemployed youth.

Sharjeel Inam Memon reassured Karachi’s residents that all these projects aim to improve public transportation and will be completed on time.
