Eid Violence: Six killed, nine injured across Pakistan over personal enmity

Firing incidents after Eid-ul-Fitr prayers killed six people, including a woman, and injured nine others in different parts of Pakistan, news reported on Monday.

In Swabi’s Gadoon Amazai, rival groups exchanged fire after Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, killing two people and injuring two others. According to the police, the incident stemmed from an old enmity, and a passerby also suffered injuries.

In Bannu’s Mandan police jurisdiction, two parties clashed, resulting in the deaths of a child and another person, while one individual was injured.

In Abbottabad’s Mirpur area, a shooting incident inside a mosque after Eid prayers wounded two people. Police linked the incident to personal enmity and are continuing their investigations.

In Karak’s Rahmatabad area, unidentified circumstances led to the shooting death of a man, and authorities have registered a case.

In Lower South Waziristan’s Gangi Khel stop, a firing incident injured police constable Shah Hussain, who was then shifted to the hospital.

In Umerkot’s Khosa Mohalla, a man shot and killed his former wife before fleeing. Police stated that the suspect took this action after his ex-wife remarried following their divorce.

In Karachi’s Super Highway Fakira Goth, a suspected robbery resistance led to the death of one man and the injury of another.

The authorities shifted the injured man to the hospital in critical condition. In Malir City’s Ghazi Town, a young man also suffered injuries in a similar incident.

Authorities have launched investigations into these incidents, with law enforcement agencies working to ensure public safety during Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
