Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly condemned India’s move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. He said that suspending the Treaty is an open aggression and a serious threat to regional peace. He termed India’s move as provocative and irresponsible.
He said that suspending the Indus Waters Treaty is a grave violation of international laws and a deliberate attempt to sabotage the ongoing efforts for peace in the region. He pointed out that India has previously used false flag operations during international visits and key moments to divert global attention from its real atrocities and injustices.
He said that during President Clinton’s visit to India, a false flag operation conducted by India resulting bloodshed of innocent Sikhs. Today, the same old tactice is being adopted in Pahalgam. Pakistan has been the most active and effective player of the global efforts against war against terrorism.
Sharjeel emphasised that Pakistan has sacrificed thousands of lives, both civilians and security personnel, in the war against terrorism. From heart-wrenching tragedies like the APS attack to the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s list of sacrifices in this fight is long and painful.
He said that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is not just a water dispute, but a clear message that India is moving towards war. Pakistan will never tolerate this provocation.
