Ushna Shah and Nadia Khan, two prominent Pakistani celebrities associated with the private channel 365 Entertainment, recently discussed the negative impact of digital and social media on Pakistani actors. Ushna Shah has been hosting a talk show, while Nadia Khan co-hosts a discussion show. They shared their views on how digital creators continuously scrutinize actors’ interviews, social media accounts, and public appearances.
In Nadia Khan’s show, Ushna Shah said, “We are scared and quiet because our biggest enemy is our public. They are earning through our downfall. For instance, if I am sitting here and tell you that my shoe is tight, they will twist it and say, ‘Ushna Shah said someone threw a shoe at her.’ They will say it in a weird voice and make horrible thumbnails. They are earning their bread and butter by putting actors down. Because of this, Pakistani actors have been restricted. We have stopped sharing our views, and we have stopped making jokes with our friends.”
Nadia Khan also said the ’90s were safer, as there was more patience, and actors openly shared their views. She added that positivity never goes viral.
