Bollywood’s latest onscreen pair has us hooked – and not just because of their sizzling chemistry in Abir Gulaal. In a recent interview circulating on social media, Indian actor Vaani Kapoor couldn’t stop singing praises of her Pakistani co-star Fawad Khan. Speaking about their experience working together on the film, she said, “He was so sweet, so collaborative and wonderful to work with.” When asked to describe Fawad in one word, her answer was immediate: “Charming. I think he’s born for cinema, for films.”
On screen, Fawad appears just as mesmerised as Vaani. In Abir Gulaal’s second track Angreji Rangrasiya, the Pakistani heartthrob can’t take his eyes off Vaani as she owns the dance floor with her dazzling moves. But this mutual admiration isn’t just a post-shoot discovery. Vaani has been a fan of Fawad long before Abir Gulaal was even in the works. In an interview with BBC Asian Network last year, she shared, “I love his work. I’ve seen a couple of his shows on the OTT platform back in the day. I used to watch it with my mom and I love him. I think audiences in India loved him for the artist that he is, and the craft that he possesses, and the fact that he is supremely talented as an artist.”
