A FIRST-TIME buyer has revealed how she and her partner decided to buy the ugliest house on their street.
Last April, the DIY enthusiast took on the project of a house that hadn’t been touched in about 70 years.

Taking to her TikTok account @ourhomeproject_, she revealed that they decided to completely renovate the house by starting from scratch.
Videoing a tour of the house, she said: “So last April, me and my boyfriend decided to buy the ugliest house on our street and basically completely renovate it and start from scratch all over again.
“For a bit of context, this house had not been touched for about 70 years, which is how long the previous owner had been in it.
“It’s a 1920s property with three bedrooms, and we just saw so much potential with this house.
“It was so spacious, and we could get so much more for our money buying this than we could with any sort of new build or more modern property.”
She went on to explain why they decided to go for a property like this.
“So for us, buying this was sort of a no-brainer. It is a lot of work, and I feel like you can see in the videos that it just needs a complete facelift,” she says.
“Obviously, the house has changed quite a lot now – this is just a recap of what it looked like when we got the keys last April.
“Since then, it’s had a full rewire, a brand-new central heating system, and we’ve also reconfigured upstairs.”
In another video, she also revealed that she managed to save for her deposit by consistently adding into an ISA account.
Her video has gained 329,000 views, with 107 people rushing to the comments section.

Whilst a third said: “I hope you aren’t going to rip out that front room fireplace.”
To which the DIY account replied, saying that they are going to “restore it” as they “love it.”
