In her viral video, the TikTok user, who amassed 5.2 million views, explained the set-up to her followers.
She revealed that her ex-husband Evan, who she shares three kids with, and his new wife Megan invited her to move on to the property to co-parent.
Her flat includes a living room, bedroom, “full blown kitchen”, bathroom, and laundry room.
Katie, who purchased the home with her husband, had previously lived at the location for three months before they divorced.
However, the couple maintained a friendly relationship, with the TikToker describing them as “each other’s beacons of light”.
Since she already “loved” the property and wanted to spend more time with her children, the decision was easy for Katie.
“We can actually have our babies with us all the time,” she explained to her audience.
In fact, the family celebrate holidays together, with Katie and Megan even wearing matching pyjamas at Christmas, and even attend each other’s family reunions.
Katie said that while divorce “wasn’t an easy ride” she admitted it was “ultimately the one we needed to be on”.
She described herself and Evan as “actually really good friends and great co-parents”.
The mum added that she “get along really well” with his new wife too.
Both women even poked fun at their similar features, with Katie calling Megan her “successor”.
She also jokingly referred to Evan as her “neighbour” and announced herself as she enters by calling “honey, I’m home”.
Katie even attended her ex-husband’s wedding, sharing that it was an honour to watch him “find happiness”.
“I can compare it to watching your annoying little brother grow up and find and fall for the woman of his dreams,” she said.
