COAS Warns India: Pakistan military responds decisively to Kashmir aggression, and water war tactics

RAWALPINDI –Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir chaired a Special Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today. The high-level military huddle took a close look at the current geo-strategic situation, especially the escalating tension between Pakistan and India, and its impact on regional peace.

During the meeting, the forum reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Armed Forces to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The COAS praised the dedication, morale, and operational preparedness of troops, emphasizing the importance of remaining alert and ready for any challenge.

A major focus of concern was the worsening situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), especially after the recent Pahalgam incident. The army leadership condemned the continued targeting of innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces, calling such acts unjustified and provocative. It warned that Pakistan would respond firmly and proportionately to any further aggression.

The conference also highlighted India’s recurring pattern of using crises for political and military gains. Drawing parallels with the Pulwama incident in 2019, the forum pointed out how New Delhi often uses internal problems to justify actions in Kashmir and elsewhere. It viewed the Pahalgam episode as part of a deliberate plan to distract Pakistan from progress on its western front and its ongoing economic recovery.

Another pressing issue discussed was India’s attempt to challenge the Indus Waters Treaty. The forum called out this move as a dangerous effort to manipulate water resources, which threatens the well-being of millions in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the forum expressed serious alarm over credible evidence of Indian involvement in sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan, stating such actions violate international norms and cannot be ignored. General Munir concluded the meeting by expressing full confidence in the armed forces’ capability and morale to defend the country against any threat.
